March 2010
Many of you recently submitted Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Program (ESSCP) grants. These grants are an important way for us to demonstrate the effectiveness of comprehensive school counseling programs. For those of you who submitted grants, it would be a good strategy to ask your local congressional representative to submit a letter in support of your grant.
Each year, congress must appropriate funds to finance the ESSCP. The larger the amount of the appropriation, the larger the number of applications that can be funded. It is important to garner the support of your local member of congress for this important program.
To facilitate this process, we've completed a template letter for your use. Click on the link to identify your congressperson and send the letter to his/her office. Dont' delay - letters must be received by March 12, 2010!
